Student of the Month Interview

1. What is your name and grade?
My name is Cecelia Lawrence and I am in 9th grade.
2. When were you officially chosen as Student of the Month?
A week ago. (this would be sept. 7)
3. How do you feel about being Student of the Month?
I felt very honored, and very happy earning this title.
4. What are the benefits, if any, of being Student of the Month?
I get respect from my teachers. People look at me with respect.
5. What are some things you did that you think made you Student of the Month?
I was very kind to students and had a good attitude, was hardworking and I participated in
photography, yoga, and dance class.
6. What were you thinking when you heard or saw yourself labeled as Student of the Month?
I thought I was a good fit for Student of the Month.
7. What does achieving Student of the Month mean for you?
"Achieving Student of the month meant that all my hard work paid off." Work being homework and school assignments
8. How will this title affect your life?
"I can tell my children that I was famous in school."
9. What do you think it took to earn that title? (toil, time, was it effortless)
It took Cecelia hours of hardwork and a good attitude towards other students and teachers.
10. How does your parent feel about you earning this title?
Cecelia's parents were proud, and very happy.
"We went to an Italian place: Mandola's, we go their every time [something is achieved]."
11. How difficult is it earning the title?
Cecelia said one of the difficulties she faced were lack of sleep. " I slept late; around midnight to 1:00am."
12. How did relatives, and other relationships affect your progress of becoming Student of the Month?
My family supported me and motivated me for this title.
13. Who was your biggest motivator in helping you gain Student of the Month?
My Aunt.
14. What did that motivator say or do that affected you?
She [aunt] told me "Don't doubt yourself!"
15. Why or why not are you considering becoming Student of the Month next month?
Cecelia will not try to become Student of the Month next month ."I feel like everyone should have a chance to be Student of the Month."
16: What concerns do you have, if any, about being Student of the Month?
I think people will think that I am a tryhard. I have been considered a tryhard when I turned in assignments on time.
17: What are the reasons why you wanted to achieve the Student of the Month title?
"I initially wanted to achieve Student of the Month because it's a good title."
18. What other achievements are you going to try to achieve?
My next goals are to get all A's on her grades and to be nicer to her sister.
19. What are some tips or advice for people who want to become Student of the Month?
"Focus on your schoolwork and have a good attitude."

1. What was your reaction when you found out your daughter was the Student of the Month?
I was proud of Cecelia and and we decided to celebrate on her becoming Student of the Month.
2. Where did you and your family go to celebrate?
We went to Mandola's, it's Cecelia's favorite place to eat and we like to go there every time Cecelia gets good grades.
3. What do you expect your daughter should do now?
I think my daughter should be more involved in competitions. Now that I know she can accomplish big challenges, I think she should be involved in other, major competitions. That would make me really proud if she got some medals.

English Teacher John Doe:
1. You were one of the teachers who voted Cecelia as Student of the Month. Why did you decide Cecelia was a good candidate?
Cecelia did very good on her grades, she participated in many school activities, and she seemed to be willing to work hard in order to get what she wanted. I knew these traits were going to make Cecelia a great person to compete in this title. I see I was correct.
2. How can Cecelia impact the school as Student of the Month?
As Student of the Month, she becomes an inspiring student role model for students who failing or who are troublemakers. She represents who we want students in our school to act an be like. She represents the school's reputation.
3. Why did the school board pick Cecelia as Student of the Month?
Cecelia was picked as Student of the Month because she showed all A's in her studies and academic integrity. She also participated in other extracurricular activities, such as dance and yoga. She displayed a good attitude towards others despite having all these activities and she successfully shown that students can avert stress build up.
4: Would you like to add anything else?
I am proud that we as a school have students who strive to be the greatest, and I hope that all of our students choose to become someone like Cecelia.
